Tool and Equipment Inventory with Maintenance Log, Excel
A trade shop loses more money to a tool nobody can find than to a tool that breaks. This file is one register for every tool and machine: where it is, who has it, and when it is next due for service, worked out for you.

What it looks like
What it does
What you get
- An Excel workbook with four working sheets: Setup, Inventory, Maintenance Log and Summary.
- An Inventory sheet with forty sample assets already filled in, so every formula is visible before you clear it.
- A service due date, a days until due count and a service flag worked out from the last service date and an interval you set once and can override per asset.
- A reorder flag for anything you stock in quantity, like blades, filters or consumables.
- A Maintenance Log that ties every service and repair back to an asset id.
- A Summary sheet with counts by status, category and location, the value of what is in service, and maintenance cost for the assets you choose to watch.
- A Start Here guide with the numbered steps and the Google Sheets import.
Who it is for
- A trade shop or small contractor that owns its own tools, plant and vehicles.
- Anyone who has bought a replacement for a tool that was actually in a van the whole time.
- A shop manager who wants one place to see what is overdue for service without checking each machine by hand.
What it is not
- Not accounting software. It does not connect to your bank, your payroll or your accounting system.
- Not a barcode or scanning system. Asset ids are typed in, the same way everything else here is.
- No macros and no add ins. It is a plain workbook, which is why it opens in Google Sheets.
- Not a maintenance contract or a warranty record. It is a plain, dated log of what service was done.
