What it looks like
What it does
What you get
Four files:
- opening-checklist.pdf - a one page checklist for the first thirty minutes, the treatment rooms, sterilization and equipment, and the run up to the first appointment.
- closing-checklist.pdf - a one page checklist for the end of day treatment room clean up, sterilization and equipment, the front desk, and locking up.
- clinic-daily-log.xlsx - one row per day: opening and closing status, autoclave test result, fridge temperature, compressor drained, anything flagged, and a formula column that turns red on its own. A second sheet works out seven numbers for the month, and a third tracks the slower cycle items like the emergency drug kit and the fire extinguisher.
- The Start Here guide - one markdown file covering the workbook and both PDFs, including how to print them and how to bring the workbook into Google Sheets.
Print a fresh copy of each PDF for the clipboard and tick the boxes through the day. What the clipboard cannot do is add itself up: at the end of the day, the two initials, the autoclave result and the fridge reading go into the Daily Log sheet, and by the end of the month the Monthly Summary sheet has already counted how many days were logged, how many openings and closings were completed, and how many times something needed a second look.
Who it is for
A solo dental or medical practice, or a small clinic with one to six treatment rooms, that wants the opening and closing routine written down rather than carried in one person's head. It suits a front desk that already runs on paper checklists and wants the daily results to add up somewhere. It is not for a multi site group practice with its own facilities team, since that team needs one shared system across locations rather than a printed sheet and a spreadsheet.
What it is not
This is not practice management software and it does not connect to a scheduling system, a billing system or any equipment. It will not test the autoclave, read the fridge thermometer or drain the compressor: a person still does every task on the two PDFs, and a person still types the result into the Daily Log afterward. Nothing here sends a reminder; the Attention and Status columns only read what is already typed into the sheet. There is no field anywhere for a patient name, a date of birth, a record number or a diagnosis, and none should be typed into a blank one either, which is the point of building it this way.
